The Oscar nominees were announced yesterday.
Oppenheimer leads the way with 13 nominations.
The year’s biggest hit, Barbie, was nominated for Best Picture, but director Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie got snubbed. It was nominated for eight awards overall , including best picture; Ryan Gosling for best supporting actor; and two best-song candidates in “What Was I Made For” and “I’m Just Ken.”
The Academy Awards will air Sunday, March 10th on ABC, one hour earlier at 7 p.m. Jimmy Kimmel host.

The Town of LaSalle has an exhibition that opened this week that the entire family will enjoy.
Sean Kenney’s Animal Super Powers is open now at the LaSalle Event Centre, featuring sculptures of animals made from Lego blocks.

The exhibit is open to the public for general admission every Thursday to Sunday until April 6, 2024. Tickets are $13 plus tax.
The art pieces on display took a collective five years to make. More than 1.3 million Lego pieces were used to construct the creations in the show.
