CKRecreation is offering the Red Cross babysitting course in Wallaceburg on Saturday, February 17th.
Open to 11 – 15 year old’s to learn how to be a safe, professional and reliable babysitter.
The cost is $61, and you can register here. Spots fill up fast.
The Year-Round Community Tennis Courts Program will be providing Chatham-Kent with $200,000 in seed money to build covered courts.
The money is provided by Tennis Canada and Rogers.
In total six municipalities were selected to receive a total of $1.2 million in funding to develop covered tennis courts in 2024. The projects announced Tuesday are scheduled for completion in time for the 2024-25 fall and winter seasons.
Four year-round courts are expected to provide 400 additional court times to the community.
The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame has announced the induction class of 2024.
Former Blue Jays catcher Russell Martin and pitcher Jimmy Key will be inducted. Alongside them are Canadian National team infielder and coach Ashley Stephenson and national team pitching legend Rod Heisler. Former Blue Jays President and CEO Paul Godfrey and baseball executive Howard Birnie will also be enshrined this year.
Stephenson will be the second woman in the hall. She was a six-time medalist with the national team.
The induction ceremony takes place on June 15, 2024 at the Hall of Fame grounds in St. Marys, Ontario.
Paczki Day is next Tuesday.
