With the warmer-than-normal temperatures we’ve been seeing, tick season has arrived early in Ontario.
Cold-sensitive ticks are usually active in the spring and summer but have already been reported across the province with the record-breaking temperatures we’ve seen throughout the winter.
Health officials in the province are reminding people to check for ticks on themselves after being outdoors by looking behind the knees, on your head, in your belly button, in your underarm area, and the back of your body as well as checking for ticks on your dog after they spend time outdoors.
As we transition into spring and start spending more time outside with our furry friends, it is important to keep in mind the possibility and risks associated with encountering fleas and ticks during your outdoor adventures! Learn more on our blog: https://t.co/E5R5quQPKi pic.twitter.com/6R2o8XBmWZ

The Chatham Maroons are back on the ice tonight as Round 1 action continues in the GOJHL Playoffs.

The Maroons will play again at home at Memorial Arena on Thursday at 7 p.m.
The Gordie Howe International Bridge is inching closer to completion.
In a construction update on Tuesday, the bridge company shared a photo of both sides of the bridge over the Detroit River with a gap in the middle, sharing that there are only 457.6 feet left until the two sides meet in the middle and construction is completed.
That is expected to be reached this summer. The new bridge crossing will connect Windsor with Detroit and is expected to open in late 2025.
📷 Check out this photo. Construction of the bridge deck over the Detroit River began in December 2022 and is currently more than two-thirds toward meeting in the middle. Only 139.5 metres/457.6 feet is left to complete the connection, a feat we anticipate reaching this summer. pic.twitter.com/CWJY8IZTVz
