June is Senior’s Month.

This month we celebrate the older adults of Chatham-Kent. We celebrate your continuous knowledge, experience, leadership, volunteerism, mentorship, and ongoing contributions to our community.

The 2024 Chatham-Kent Celebration of Older Adults takes place this morning at 10 a.m. The broadcast will air on the Municipal Facebook page and the Municipal YouTube Channel.


The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers are on the road tonight looking to snap a 5 game losing streak.

The Barnstormers will play the defending champs, the Welland Jackfish.

The Barnstormers are back at Fergie Jenkins Field on Saturday, June 8th against the Brantford Red Sox. Tickets online at CKBarnstormers.com.

A Detroit landmark will reopen its doors this weekend.

Michigan Central Station is reopening this week with the new mission of acting as a global hub of innovation for “mobility solutions”. In 2018, Ford Motor Company spent $90 million to purchase the vacant eyesore. They have since spent $1 billion over 6 years on renovations to create a new innovation hub.

Tonight Live From Detroit: The Concert at Michigan Central, will stream live tonight at 8:30. It’ll reair on NBC Sunday at 9 p.m. The special concert is executive produced by Detroit music icon Eminem and his longtime manager, Paul Rosenberg. It will feature some of the worlds biggest stars. Names like Diana Ross, Jack White, Big Sean, Melissa Etheridge, Jelly Roll and more.

Detroit Lions Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Barry Sanders will also be part of the show.


The video game Tetris turns 40 today.

It’s been on more gaming platforms than any other game in history. The theme is a Russian folk tune from the 1800s and the lyrics are about a peddler who seduces a young peasant girl.
