The Ontario government is expanding alcohol sales to grocery, convenience and big-box stores a little quicker than planned.
450 grocery stores that are licensed to sell beer, cider or wine will begin selling in store on July 18 rather than August 1.
Premier Doug Ford announced in May that beer, wine, and ready-to-drink cocktails would be sold at Ontario convenience stores starting next month. By the end of October, every licensed convenience, grocery and big-box store in Ontario will be able to sell beer, cider, wine and ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages.
LCBO workers have been on strike since July 5th.
The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers are at home tonight to play the London Majors.

Amazon Prime Day is like Black Friday, but for Amazon Prime customers. It’s the 10th year for the sale. Amazon raked in nearly $13 billion in sales from customers around the world during the event in July 2023.
An annual poll found the top three things we’re looking to buy are clothes and other apparel, electronics and household essentials, like toilet paper.
The first ever Prime Day sale was in 2015, bringing in just under $1 billion, last year just over $12 billion was made.
