The Chatham Concert Band returns to Tecumseh Park tonight for Summer Concerts in the Park.

This is the 97th year for the Summer Concert Series, the show is free beginning at 7 pm. Bring your friends and family and your lawn chair.

Conductor Vaughn Pugh will chat with CKMORNINGS at 6:50 this morning.


Chatham Ribfest is just days away.

Ribfest takes place in Tecumseh Park from Friday to Sunday and is celebrating its 15th year in Chatham.

Ribfest will feature over half a dozen ribbers along with vendors, live entertainment and a family activity zone.

Chatham’s Bridget Carleton will officially be going to the Olympics in Paris this summer.

She was named to the final roster for Canada’s women’s basketball team on Tuesday by Canada Basketball and the Canadian Olympic Committee.

This is the second time Carleton will represent Canada at the Olympics after competing in Brazil in 2016. This also marks the first time in 24 years that Canada’s women’s and men’s basketball teams will compete together at an Olympic Games.


Bike for Hospice gets underway on Thursday.

Jeff Thibert will ride 10,000 kms in 75 hours in hopes of raising $10,000 for Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation. Jeff will journey by himself from Tilbury to Goderich down to Stratford, and then back to Tilbury, twice!

The ride is being done with the support of Van Hoof Siding Place.

If you’re doing any travelling stateside over the next few days, expect it to be busy.

Experts are warning that this 4th of July is expected to break records and be the busiest July 4th in history when it comes to air and road travel in the U.S.

At airports alone, the United States Transportation Security Administration says it expects to screen more than 32 million people at U.S. airports over the next week. Meanwhile, AAA in the states is expecting 70.9 million people to travel by vehicle over the holiday weekend.
