The Chatham Maroons will play the London Nationals tonight at Memorial Arena. Puck drop is 7 p.m.

Bring your skates along, its the first Skate with the Maroons Night. Ten minutes following the game fans will be allowed on the ice to skate with the team.

Tonight in Blenheim, the Blades take on the Mooretown Flags at the Blenheim Memorial Arena. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. All Blenheim Elementary School students get in free.


The Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent ReStore reopens today, at their brand new location.

The new location is at 55 Junction Ave, in Chatham. Doors open for the first time at 9 a.m.

What a time to be a Detroit Sports fan?

The Detroit Tigers are one win away from advancing to the American League Championship Series. The Tigers shut out the Cleveland Guardians 3-0 on Wednesday. Game 4 is this afternoon at Comerica Park at 6:08 p.m. If the Tigers win, they advance, lose and a winner take all game 5 is Saturday in Cleveland.

The Detroit Red Wings season begins tonight at Little Caesars Arena against Sydney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. The game, originally scheduled for 7 p.m., will now begin at 8 p.m. due to Game Four of the American League Division Series being held across the street at Comerica Park.

Baseball and hockey fans are encouraged to arrive early and to give themselves time to find parking. You can also book in advance here.

The Lions are on the road this weekend, but you can still head to downtown Detroit to watch with fellow fans. The Lions are on the road to play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday kickoff at 4:25 p.m. You can purchase up to six tickets while supplies last. Reservations will be accepted here until tomorrow or until capacity has been reached.


The CP Holiday Train is coming back to Chatham this holiday season!

It will stop at the John D. Bradley Centre on November 25th at 2:30.

American Authors and KT Tunstall will be performing between 2:45 and 3:15.

The event is free but CP encourages people to bring food donations to help address hunger in their communities. Local food banks will be accepting donations at each stop to ensure those less fortunate have enough healthy food this holiday season.

The modern cell phone turns 41 this week.

It was introduced in Chicago and demonstrated in a call to Alexander Graham Bell’s grandson in Berlin, Germany. The 1983 phone’s price was $3,995. In 1990, there were just over 5 million people in the country with cell phones. By 2000, that number was nearly 110 million. Now, 97% of North Americans have cell phones or smart phones.
