The Chatham Santa Claus Parade is tonight at 6:30. Starting on Sandy St., over the Lacroix St. bridge to King, to the Wish Centre. Santa will be at the Wish Centre following the parade to meet the children.

The 55th Wallaceburg Santa Claus Parade is tomorrow at 6 p.m. The parade will start on Arnold Street, before heading down Dufferin Avenue, continuing onto James Street, turning at Nelson Street and finally hitting Elgin Street.

It’s a PA Day for most students in Chatham-Kent today.

CKRecreation is hosting a free swim today for those in Wallaceburg to keep busy. Everyone is welcome to stop by the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool from 1:30 – 4 p.m. for a swim.

The previously announced free swim at the Blenheim Gable Rees pool has been cancelled. The pool will be closed until 3 today.

58 year old Mike Tyson returns to professional boxing 19 years after his last bout tonight.

Tyson will return to the ring to face off against 27-year-old YouTube boxer Jake Paul. The pair were initially scheduled to fight in July this year, though the bout was postponed when Tyson experienced an ulcer flare up.

The fight will be carried by Netflix, beginning at 8 p.m. The exact fight time for Tyson vs. Paul is not yet determined, as the other fights on the card could run long.

The CFL‘s 111th Grey Cup will be awarded on Sunday in Vancouver.

The Toronto Argonauts take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Winnipeg is playing in their fifth consecutive Grey Cup. They didn’t win the last two years, but they won the two previous.

The Jonas Brothers will perform at halftime.

The fourth and final supermoon will brighten the night sky tonight.

The Beaver Moon is expected to rise at approximately 4:30 p.m., making its close pass at around 224,853 miles from Earth.

A supermoon occurs when a moon’s full lunar phase coincides with the closest point in its orbit around Earth, known as the perigee. This type of lunar alignment is quite rare, only happening three or four times a year. This is the fourth supermoon of 2024.

A supermoon is obviously not bigger, but it can appear that way, making it a popular sight for skywatchers. After the Beaver moon sets, the next supermoon won’t rise again until October 2025, that will be the first of three supermoons next year.
