The Municipality of Chatham-Kent will host its first Budget Community Consultation this afternoon.
For those wishing to provide feedback on the budget, two virtual community consultation sessions are planned. Today is the first from noon to 1 p.m. The second session is tomorrow from 7 to 8 p.m.
These sessions are being hosted on the municipality’s Facebook Page.
Budget deliberations will start next Tuesday in council chambers from 6 to 10 p.m. Deliberations continue will November 27 and 28, if required, at the same time and place. Public deputations regarding the budget can be made on the first night of deliberations. Requests and submissions to make deputations must be sent by email before noon on that date.

Alert Ready will be conducting a test across the province today to ensure the system’s readiness in the case of an actual emergency.
These routine tests of the Alert Ready system typically happen twice per year, with the last one taking place in May.
The test message will simulate an emergency alert. A message will be issued along with the alert tone indicating that it is a test and that no further action is required from the public.
The test is scheduled for 12:55pm.
The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation Igniting Healthcare Holiday 50/50 is back!
The first ticket sold was just sold yesterday. There’s a $50,000 minimum guaranteed jackpot and $10,000 in total Early Bird prizes. The proceeds will support the purchase of new equipment for Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. The grand prize draw to be held on Thursday, January 9th. There will be early bird prizes up for grabs too.
Tickets are $10 for 5 tickets, $20 for 20 tickets, $50 for 150 ticket or $100 for 500 tickets. Get your tickets here, or in-person at the Foundation office at 9 Ursuline Avenue in Chatham.
Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers is under renovation at the moment.
The major work is being done on the new Home Plate Club, with new seating set for Opening Day April 4, 2025. Seats in this section will feature quick-touch heating and cooling climate technology, meaning fans can enjoy the seats either warmer or colder depending on the weather.
The Home Plate Club will also include a private entrance to the seats, VIP parking, all-inclusive food and beverage, in-seat service and more.
Comerica Park opened in April 2000.
