Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement calling for strong winds today. Strong winds gusting up to 70 or 80 km/h are expected most of the day, decreasing tonight.

Canadian Blood Services is calling on Canadians to be one of the 450 new donors needed every day this winter.


The Super Bowl 59 matchup is set.

The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, February 9th at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

The Chiefs squeaked out a win against the Buffalo Bills, 32 to 29, and the Philadelphia Eagles, who smoked the Washington Commanders 55 to 23.

KC could become the first NFL team to win three consecutive championships. The Eagles and the Chiefs played each other in Super Bowl 57, and the Chiefs won, 38 to 35.

Kendrick Lamar is headlining the halftime show.


The site FinanceBuzz is looking to hire someone to taste test 20 different Super Bowl snacks from Costco. It pays $1,000, plus a $500 gift card to buy it all.

The sampler will need to have access to a Costco membership, be 18 years or older, and live near a Costco location (and be an American citizen) Using a provided $500 gift card, the selected person will need to purchase 20 different frozen items, such as chicken wings, pizza, pigs in a blanket, and mozzarella sticks.

They’re calling it the “Sideline Sampler Side Hustle.” They’ll photograph each item, write a brief description, and rate them all based on how good they are, and how hard they are to make.


Wiarton, Ontario is set to take centre stage this weekend.

The annual Wiarton Willie Groundhog Day Festival is this weekend. The festival starts Saturday morning at 7 a.m. with fireworks and the official prediction to take place at 8:07 a.m.

Festival events continue Sunday with inflatable mazes, gaming trailers, horse-drawn wagons, axe throwing and a photo booth.
