Thousands of Chatham-Kent staff and students are headed back to the classroom this morning.
That means more traffic and buses are back on the roads. Drive safe. Cloud and flurries with an expected high of -3C.
Buses are back on the roads as things get back to “normal” for 2025.
Spring Break is March 10-14 and the last day of school is scheduled for June 26th.
Garbage and recycling collection will be on a normal schedule this week after the holidays.

This week Chatham-Kent residents can put their Christmas tree at the curb for pickup on their regular garbage and recycling day. The tree must be clear of any decorations.
You can also recycle your tree for free by dropping it off at the municipal leaf and yard depot, or at any of the transfer stations in Camden, Dover, Harwich, and Wallaceburg, and at the public works yards in Bothwell, Ridgetown, and Tilbury.
The Detroit Lions won the biggest game in franchise’s history to win the NFC North and secure the #1 seed in the playoffs.
This is by far the best season in Lions’ franchise history. The Lions broke a record by winning their 13th game two weeks ago in Chicago, and then proceeded to break that record each of the next two weeks.
At 15-2, they beat their previous best (12-4 in 1991 and 12-5 last year) with ease.
With last night’s win, Detroit locked up the top seed in the NFC, which comes with a first-round bye. The Lions will host the worst-seeded team left standing after the first round.

The Globe and Mail is reporting that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to announce he is stepping down as Liberal party leader as early as today.
A national caucus meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, and The Globe report says three sources believe the resignation will happen before that meeting.
It’s not clear if Trudeau will stay on as prime minister or if an interim leader would be selected through a Liberal leadership race if he decides to step down.
It’s the first working Monday of 2025, and that means it’s “Divorce Day”: the day of the year you’re most likely to get dumped.
A study in 2020 found Google searches for things like “quickie divorce” more than double every January.
January probably does deserve the title of “Divorce month.” Experts think it’s because people tend to avoid breakups in November and December to just get through the holidays. Or sometimes, all the holiday stress can be the final straw.
The first working Monday gets the “Divorce Day” title because the added stress of getting back to work can push people over the edge.
For the sake of your relationship, it might be a good day to toss out a random compliment or do something nice for your partner. It could save your relationship, for now.
