Environment Canada has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for today and tomorrow.
The drive home from work or school pick ups will be dicey with snow beginning this afternoon, we could see it mixed with freezing rain. Total accumulation could be up to 10 centimetres (about 4 inches)
Most of Ontario will have to deal with this Texas low.
It’s a double whammy storm this week with more snow expected on Saturday and Sunday of the Family Day weekend.
The 2025 4 Nations Face-Off begins tonight.
The tournament is a round-robin tournament, showcasing NHL players from Finland, Sweden, Canada and the USA. The games will be held in Montreal and Boston. This will be the first best-on-best international hockey tournament since 2016, when the World Cup of Hockey was held in Toronto. The final will be on Thursday, February 20th.
Tonight, Canada takes on Sweden at 8 p.m. on Sportsnet.
The Tip Tower has reopened at Point Pelee National Park.
A guard rail issue closed the tower in May 2022. The 24-metre observation tower is safe for use once again, with final updates happening over the next few weeks.
February’s full snow moon will peak at 8:53 this morning, but will appear full through Thursday evening.
Fittingly, the moon takes its name from the heavy snowfall typically associated with February.
The next full moon will be March’s Worm Moon on March 14th.
