Today is Election Day in Ontario.
Voting will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Voters can find out where their assigned voting location is by entering their postal code in the “voter information service” section at elections.on.ca, downloading the Elections Ontario app or on their Voter Information Card, which was mailed to all registered voters last week.
Premier Doug Ford called the election nearly a month ago and is also more than a year early, Ford didn’t have to go to the polls until June 2026.
Ontario hasn’t had a February election since 1883.
Trevor Joins will be seeking reelection under the Progressive Conservatives in the Chatham-Kent—Leamington riding.
Other candidates in the riding include:

- Christian Sachs- Ontario NDP
- Matthew Davey- Green Party

Canada’s first Hard Rock Hotel is almost complete and set to open soon…and it’s pretty close to us!
The Hard Rock Hotel in London in now accepting reservations.
The hotel will feature the classic Hard Rock vibe, complete with a giant guitar statue out front, it has 167 rooms.
The hotel is at 100 Kellogg Lane, close to The Factory in Old East Village.
Chatham-Kent has made the list of one of the happiest places to live in Canada.
Nearby Windsor-Essex and Lakeshore were also high on the list.
Life satisfaction, future outlook, sense of meaning and purpose, loneliness and a sense of belonging to local community were some of the factors that were taken into account for overall satisfaction.
In all of Canada, Ontario and Halifax showed the most locations with good overall satisfaction.
After it was announced this week that Starbucks will be removing several items from its menu, changes are also coming to its cups that you’ll specifically notice you’re an iced coffee drinker.
The coffee giant will no longer offer cold drink orders in plastic cups in some locations, instead switching to fiber-based compostable cups.
The new compostable cups are made from molded fiber and come with both flat or dome-shaped lids to accommodate both regular iced drinks and whipped drinks.
The change will eventually be made nationwide. Starbucks said it plans to change its cups to entirely compostable, recyclable or reusable by 2030, according to its “reusable revolution” statement on its official website.
Rio Carnival, the world’s biggest Carnival held annually in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, starts tomorrow.
About 80,000 tourists are expected to join in the festivities.
The Rio Carnival starts Friday and goes until Tuesday March 4th, the day before Ash Wednesday, a significant Catholic tradition which signals the start of Lent.
