Free swims and skates continue for March Break.
CKRecreation is offering some free swim sessions today in Wallaceburg and Blenheim.
At the Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool there’s a free swim on today, from 10:30-noon and 2:30-4 p.m. At the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool there’s a free swim today 2:30-4 p.m.
The municipality is also offering free public skating at local arenas: today in Dresden at the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre 11:30-1 p.m., Wheatley Arena 1-2:30 p.m. and at Ridgetown Arena 3-4:30- p.m.
Big home game tonight for the Blenheim Blades in the second round of the PJHL playoffs.
The 6th seeded Blades are playing the top seeded Essex 73’s in the PJHL Semi Finals. After losing the first two games by just one goal, the Blades pulled out a 7-5 victory on Tuesday. Game 4 is tonight at Blenheim Memorial Arena. Let’s pack the barn and cheer on the home team, puck drop at 7 p.m.
The Chatham Maroons have finalized their first round GOJHL playoff schedule against the Elmira Sugar Kings.
Game One will be at Memorial Arena on Sunday at 7 p.m.

Tickets for home games are priced at $13 for adults, $11 for seniors, and $7 for kids aged 6-11.
In the Western Ontario Super League, the Tilbury Bluebirds will face the fourth-seeded Stratford Fighting Irish in a semifinal. The schedule hasn’t been released yet.
A total lunar eclipse will happen tonight.
That’s when the moon moves into Earth’s shadow, giving the moon a deep red hue for several hours overnight. That’s why it’s known as the Blood Moon. Lunar eclipses happen when the moon, Earth and sun align just so. The Earth casts a shadow that can partially or totally block out the moon.
Lunar and solar eclipses happen anywhere from four to seven times a year, according to NASA. The Blood Moon will be visible for about an hour starting at 2:26 a.m. on Friday morning. Peak viewing will be close to 3 a.m. No need for eclipse glasses or any special equipment.
TikTok is introducing a new “wind down” reminder for teens.
If a teen under 16 is still using the app after 10 p.m., TikTok will interrupt their feed with a full-screen “wind down” reminder, which will play “calming music to help teens relax and be mindful of the time.”
Teens can ignore TikTok’s initial 10PM reminder, it will display another prompt that’s harder to dismiss.
