Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the weekend. Today looks great; sunshine and a high of 17C. Overnight rain moves in with an expected high of 20C for Saturday. Significant rainfall is expected and possibility of flooding.
Spring will arrives on Thursday, March 20th at 5:01 a.m.
Final day of March Break, and a couple more free swim times available locally.
CKRecreation is offering some free swim sessions today at the Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool from 2:30-4 p.m. On Saturday there’s a free swim 2-3:30 p.m. and 5:30-7 p.m. There’s also some bonus times at the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool from 6-8 p.m. today and tomorrow.
The municipality is also offering free public skating at local arenas over the weekend:

Mark Carney will be sworn in as Canada’s 24th prime minister this morning.
Carney takes over after the resignation of current leader Justin Trudeau in early January.
It is widely expected the new PM will call an election before Parliament resumes on March 24th, but cannot do that until he has been sworn in.
The NCAA March Madness tournament gets rolling in just a couple of days.
The 68-team field for both tournaments will be revealed on Selection Sunday, March 16th.
March Madness for the men’s tournament kicks off with the First Four games on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 18 – 19.
The men’s tournament wraps up with the Final Four on Saturday, April 6, and the championship game is on Monday, April 7.
As for the women’s tournament, the First Four begins on Wednesday and Thursday, March 19 – 20.The women’s Final Four is on Friday, April 4 and the women’s national championship game is on Sunday, April 6.
It’s Pi Day!
National Pi Day on March 14th recognizes the mathematical constant π. Also known as pi, the first three and most recognized digits are 3.14. The day is celebrated by pi enthusiasts and pie lovers alike!
Pi is the ratio between the circumference of a circle and its diameter.
