The Chatham Maroons have a 1-0 lead their first round GOJHL playoff schedule against the Elmira Sugar Kings.
Maroons took Game 1 9-5 on Sunday. Game 2 is tonight in Elmira at 7. Game 3 is back home on Sunday night at Memorial Arena.
Major League Baseball launches its 2025 season this morning in Japan.
The defending World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers will play a two-game series against the Chicago Cubs today and tomorrow. First pitch is this morning at 6:10 a.m. Both games in Japan will be on Sportsnet.
This will be the sixth time that an opening game of the season will be held in Tokyo. Opening Day is officially scheduled for next Thursday, March 27th, the earliest date in Major League Baseball history.
The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament begins today.
The tournament runs up until the championship game on April 7th.
March Madness is big money:
- An estimated $10 billion will be wagered on March Madness games this year, which is about 30% more than the Super Bowl. $4 billion of that will be bet illegally.
- The annual revenue for the NCAA last year was nearly $1.2 billion, and the NCAA distributes around $170 million of that to Division 1 schools.
- The average Division 1 men’s basketball scholarship is worth $71,400 or about $17,850 per year.
- The odds of finishing with a perfect bracket guessing all the games correctly is 1-in-120 billion.
- There’s a 19% increase in beer sales during March Madness.
- The four #1 seeds are Houston, Auburn, Duke & Florida.
- The play-in games take place today and tomorrow. #16 seeds Alabama State vs. Saint Francis, San Diego State vs. North Carolina. And American University vs. Mount St. Mary’s, and Texas vs. Xavier
Lamborghini has introduced a new high-end stroller that costs big bucks.
