Tonight is Trivia Night at Sons of Kent in support of Rise House International.

Cost is $20 per person at the door.

Trivia begins at 7pm with some awesome prizes to be won.


The Chatham Maroons will attempt to eliminate the Elmira Sugar Kings tonight at Memorial Arena.

Chatham is up 3 games to 1 in the best of 7 series. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. Tickets for home games are priced at $13 for adults, $11 for seniors, and $7 for kids aged 6-11.

If the Maroons don’t win tonight, Game 6 is in Elmira on Saturday with a game 7 on Sunday back at Memorial.


The Ontario Hockey League playoffs begin tonight.

Tonight the Windsor Spitfires will play the Soo Greyhounds at the WFCU Centre. Puck Drop is at 7 p.m.

The London Knights begin their series tomorrow against Declan Waddick and the Owen Sound Attack.

The Sarnia Sting did not make the playoffs.


It’s Opening Day for Major League Baseball.

The Jays play the Baltimore Orioles at 3:07 p.m. on Sportsnet.

The Detroit Tigers are in Los Angeles to play the defending champion Dodgers at 7:10 p.m.

The Tigers first game at Comerica Park is next Friday, April 4th against the Chicago Whitesox.

The Jays and Tigers will play each other in Toronto May 16-17-18 and in Detroit July 24-25-26-27.


Heads up for anyone that has to do any travelling this weekend, Environment Canada has issued special weather statements warning of the potential for freezing rain across a wide part of Ontario, stretching from Mississauga to Thunder Bay to Cornwall, from Friday into Monday.

“This rain will freeze on contact and could cause ice accretions of 5 to 10 mm for parts of the GTA, with even higher amounts topping 20 or even 30 mm for areas to the north and east.”

The ice and rain will continue on and off until at least early Sunday, with some areas seeing precipitation lasting into Monday.

Locally, Environment Canada is calling for a wet weekend, with temperatures peaking at 15C on Saturday.
