Students at John McGregor Secondary School are hosting a Mini Classic Car Show today.

Weather permitting, vehicles will be lined up along Cecile Avenue from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to stop by for a look.

Students will be taking photos and the art students will then work on their paintings and photographs to be featured during the full RetroFest Car Show May 23 and 24 in downtown Chatham.

Today there will be live music, retro costume contest and some food vendors on site.

The Chatham-Kent Film Group will screen Born Hungry tonight at Chatham Galaxy Cinemas.

Showings at 4 and 7p.m.. Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased at the door.

There are two screenings this month, the next film will be held on Monday, April 28th.

The Chatham Maroons are off to the Western Conference Final after defeating the Stratford Warriors 2-1 in game 7 last night.

The Warriors forced the winner-take-all contest with a 3-1 victory in Game 6 Friday.

The Maroons will play either St. Marys or London in the final. They play a game 7 in St. Marys Tuesday.

Rory McIlroy won the The Masters golf tournament yesterday and took home $4.2 million.

With the win he completes his career Grand Slam; in his career, he’s now won the Masters, Open Championship, U.S. Open and PGA Championship.

Rory went into the final round with a two-stroke lead over Bryson DeChambeau, who faded early. But Justin Rose came back from seven shots down to make it very interesting.

Rory could have won it on the 18th but hit his second shot in a bunker, then missed a five-foot putt. So he finished tied with Rose at 11 under, which forced a playoff. On the extra hole Rose made par, but Rory stuck it to two feet and made birdie to win.

He hadn’t won a major in over a decade, so a lot of fans didn’t think it would happen.
