April 3, 2025 5:55 amApril 3rd is the 93rd day of the year. There are 272 days remaining until the end of the year.
Tomorrow is a PA Day for most students around Chatham-Kent.
There are some free swim times available at Blenheim Gable Rees Pool from 1:30-3, and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool from 1:30-4.
The Chatham-Kent Public Library has a bunch of PA Day activities to keep your family busy as well.
Usually the Chatham-Kent Film Group screens international and independent films the first Monday of the month.
This month the schedule is a little different.
They’ll screen Born Hungry Monday, April 14th (4 & 7 p.m.) and Anora Monday, April 28th (7 p.m. only) Both showing at Chatham Galaxy Cinemas.
Showings at 4 and 7pm. Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased at the door.
Elections Canada has voter cards in the mail this week. The Federal Election is set for Monday, April 28th.
If you don’t receive a voter card in the next week, it’s a good idea to contact your local returning office. An Elections Canada returning office can also issue a special ballot to vote any time during the election period and a special ballot to vote by mail.
You will still need to present your valid ID when you cast your ballot, it is just a way to make sure that the Register of Electors gets updated each time.
Go here if you still need to register to vote.
Advanced polls will be open on April 18, 19, 20, and 21.
With their win last night over the Florida Panthers, the Maple Leafs have clinched a spot in the NHL Playoffs. It’s the 9th straight year the Leafs have made the playoffs, but still haven’t won the Stanley Cup since 1967. The regular season ends next week, the playoffs begin April 19th.
The Chatham Maroons held on to a 5-4 win over the Stratford Warriors on home ice last night. Game 2 is Friday in Stratford, game 3 back home on Sunday at 7 p.m.
The latest Apple update added eight new emojis to the system.
Added was a harp, a shovel, a fingerprint, a tree, a flag and a radish. The one getting the most attention is the “exhausted” emoji that features dark under-eye bags, furrowed brows and an exasperated expression. Some are saying it will be the most used emoji this year.
