It’s a PA Day for most students in C-K, the roads will be a little quieter this morning.

Environment Canada is saying sunshine today with a high of 10C, but rain for the rest of the weekend.

Looking for something to do? There are some free swim times available at Blenheim Gable Rees Pool from 1:30-3, and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool from 1:30-4.


With rain expected Saturday through Monday, the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority is warning that flooding is possible in specific watercourses.

They predict water levels could be similar to those seen during the February 2018 flood.

The forecasts are calling for another 35-40 millimetres of rain on Friday night and Saturday and the conservation authority said any rain will add to the current flooding peak as it reaches Chatham-Kent, adding that Thamesville could get hit the worst.

The flood watch is in affect until Tuesday.


Baseball’s back in Detroit today.

The Tigers home opener is this afternoon against the Chicago White Sox at Comerica Park.

The team will be introduced at 12:35 p.m. and the first pitch is at 1:10p.m. Comedian/Actor Keegan-Michael Key is throwing the ceremonial first pitch.

You’ll notice the Tigers removed the keyhole between the mound and home plate (the dirt cutout). It was the last remaining one in Major League Baseball. The team said it was at request of the players. Eagle eyed fans will also notice the script “Tigers” that was above the scoreboard has been replaced with a new “Comerica Park” sign.


The NCAA March Madness is down to the Final 4, and after the weekend we’ll know who’s going to the championship.

All four #1 seeds have made the Final Four. Florida will take on Auburn Saturday at 6 p.m. and Duke and Houston tip off at 8:50.

The championship game is Monday at 8:50 p.m.


An American man has set the Guinness World Record for the most pull-ups in a day.

Truett Hanes successfully completed 10,001 pull-ups to secure the title. He previously set the record about two years ago and successfully beat it in the allotted time period, but his number was beaten less than a day later by Australian man.

No word on if the Aussie is going to clap back this weekend.
