Chatham-Kent council will meet tonight to vote on whether or not to proceed with a proposed multi-million-dollar community hub. The hub would be in the former Sears store at the Downtown Chatham Centre.
Supporters are saying it would be a long-term investment to help revitalize the downtown, but not everyone agrees. The consolidation of the Civic Centre, library, and museum to one site will allow the municipality to sell the other buildings in need of repair.

Due to an expected large crowd, the meeting has been moved to the John D. Bradley Convention Centre (565 Richmond St, Chatham) beginning at 6 p.m. The meeting will be streamed on the Municipal Facebook Page.
