Despite filing for bankruptcy, some parts of the Hudson Bay Company’s iconic imaging will still live on.

Canadian Tire announced it will buy Hudson’s Bay’s intellectual property. This includes things like the brand’s famous multicoloured stripes motif, coat of arms, and other brand trademarks.

The deal means products under the Hudson Bay Company’s banner will be able to be sold by Canadian Tire, which also owns SportChek, Party City and Mark’s. As of right now, Canadian Tire hasn’t released details on how plans to use Hudson’s Bay and its branding.

In a statement, a representative for Canadian Tire said “Some things are just meant to stay Canadian and we are honoured to welcome many of HBC’s leading brands — including the iconic HBC coat of arms and the Stripes — into our Canadian Tire family.”

The weather isn’t quite ready yet, but Canada’s Wonderland will open its waterpark for the season this weekend.

Splash Works will open its doors on Saturday. The 20-acre water park offers 18 attractions and also features Canada’s largest outdoor wave pool.
