Hosted by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and Waste Connections of Canada Ridge Landfill.
The drop off is at Veolia Environmental, at 141 Prosperity Way from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The next household hazardous waste days this year:
- Tuesday, June 10, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Residents can safely dispose of household hazardous material at no charge. A list of acceptable material can found here.
The annual John McGregor Secondary School Plant Sale is this weekend.
Stop by the school (300 Cecile Ave, Chatham) this Saturday, May 10th, from 8 a.m. – noon. Proceeds go back into the Green Industries program.
Tomatoes, peppers, hanging baskets and more. Lots available. Cash only.
The St. Catharines Falcons beat the Chatham Maroons 8-5 in Game 4 of the Sutherland Cup Finals. The series is tied at 2-2.
Game 5 is at Memorial Arena tonight. Puck drop tonight is at 7:30.
Box office opens at 5:30 p.m. for tickets, cash only. Gates open at 6.
The Toronto Maple Leafs Florida Panthers series heads to Miami for Game 3 tonight. The Leafs have a 2-0 series lead.
Game time is 7 p.m.
This weekend will be another free fishing weekend.
This means you do not need to buy a fishing license if you want to fish during:
- Mother’s Day Weekend (May 10–11)
- Father’s Day Weekend (June 14-15)
- Family Fishing Week (June 28–July 6)
During all other time periods, Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase a valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.
