June 13th is the 164th day of the year. There are 201 days remaining until the end of the year.

RM’s Cars & Coffee is back tomorrow.

Stop by RM Classic Cars (One Classic Car Drive, Blenheim, Ontario) for a morning of coffee, pastries and some fine cars.

Car enthusiasts are invited out 8–11 a.m., rain or shine. Get to know the RM Auto Restoration team and get a glimpse inside the shop that helped dub Chatham-Kent ‘Canada’s Classic Car Capital’.

There are two more Cars & Coffee events this summer on Saturday, July 12 and September 13th.

Follow the Facebook Page for more info.

Saturday is World Blood Donor Day; a day to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.

There will be a blood donor clinic Saturday at the St. Clair College Healthplex from 10:30 to 2:30 p.m.

No walk-in appointments are available. Book your appointment at Blood.ca, call 1-888-2-DONATE or use the apps.

If you’re unable to donate this week, the next clinic locally will also be in Wallaceburg Tuesday, June 24th.

Father’s Day is Sunday.

The idea of a special day to honour fathers and celebrate fatherhood was introduced in the United States. A woman named Sonora Smart Dodd was inspired by the American Mother’s Day celebrations and planned a day to honour fathers early in the 20th century. The first Father’s Day was celebrated in Spokane, Washington on June 19, 1910.

Father’s Day is observed on the third Sunday of June.

It’s a license free fishing weekend in Ontario for Father’s Day.

This means you do not need to buy a fishing license if you want to fish. This happens four times during the year; Family Day weekend, Mother’s Day weekend and Family Fishing week, June 28-29. During all other time periods, Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase a valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.

It’s Friday the 13th.

Considered the most unlucky day on the calendar in Western society. In Italy, Friday the 17th is considered a day of bad luck.

Friday the 13th happens at least once every year but can’t occur any more than three times in the same year. A Friday the 13th occurs during any month that begins on a Sunday. This is the only Friday the 13th in 2025; 2026 will have three – February, March & November.

In Ontario, motorcyclists head to Port Dover to celebrate. PD13.com for more info.

The World Naked Bike Ride is returning to Toronto this weekend.

The bike ride is a global protest in cities all around the world where bikers gather and protest against the over usage of oil, urban pollution, cycle safety on roads, and encourage body freedom for everyone.

The ride will take place Saturday starting at 1 p.m. There is no registration required so ditch your clothes and grab your bike and helmet. Organizers suggest wearing sunscreen…everywhere!
