CAA has released its 2025 list of the worst roads in Ontario.

Aberdeen Ave in Hamilton is the “winner” as the worst road in Ontario for the second straight year. It is considered the worst, mainly due to damaging potholes and poor maintenance. The top three worst roads in Ontario this year also include Barton Street East in Hamilton and County Road 49 in Prince Edward County. Both roadways are expected to receive significant upgrades and are in the early planning stages.

Banwell Road in Windsor is the number one worst road in the Southwest region, which includes Chatham-Kent, Essex, and Lambton County. The top 5 in our region:

  1. Banwell Road, Windsor
  2. Blackwell Sideroad, Sarnia
  3. Michigan Avenue, Sarnia
  4. Riverside Drive, Windsor
  5. Vidal Street South, Sarnia

This year’s campaign saw 2,400 roads nominated across 208 Ontario municipalities.

Today is Donut Day. It falls on the first Friday in June every year.

In 1938, Donut Day was established as a way to honour the members of the Salvation Army that came to the aid of soldiers during World War I. The “Donut Lassies” would fry up donuts in a war helmet, frying up 7 at a time.
