July 16th is the 197th day of the year. There are 168 days remaining until the end of the year.

Today is Tim Horton’s Camp Day.

Visit Tim Horton’s to buy a coffee or iced coffee and help change a life by sending youth from disadvantaged circumstances to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

100% of proceeds from all Tim Hortons coffee purchases on Camp Day will help send youth – at no cost to them – to a Tims Camp for a multi-year, camp-based program where they will be empowered to believe in their own potential and change their stories for the better.

There are a couple different ways to send a kid to camp, the easiest is to buy a hot or iced coffee at a Tim Hortons, but you can also help by:

  • Purchase a Camp Day bracelet for $2 or Camp Day socks for $5.
  • Round Up your order or drop change into the coin box.
  • Purchase a Rent-a-Tent window decal.
  • Make a one-time or monthly donation in a restaurant or online.
  • You can also grab a Camp Day donut for $2

Allanah will be live later this morning at Tim Horton’s 368 St. Clair St., Chatham.

The Chatham Concert Band is back on stage tonight.

This is the 96th year for the Summer Concert Series, the show is free beginning at 7p.m..

Conductor Vaughn Pugh will chat with CKMORNINGS at 6:50 this morning.

Lake Erie is basically a giant bathtub.

A recent reading showed a water temperature of 29°C at just a one-metre depth, essentially bathtub conditions. That’s unusually warm for early July, especially considering that only six months ago, the lake was more than 80% ice-covered.

Lake Erie is the shallowest of the Great Lakes, meaning it warms (and cools) quickly.

Today is one of a handful of days on the calendar where there are no professional sports games; No MLB, NBA, NHL, or NFL.

It has come to be known as the deadest day on the sporting calendar.

The Major League Baseball game was last night. There are no games scheduled tonight and tomorrow, returning to the regular season on Friday.

Sydney Sweeney is launching a new lingerie line, with a billionaire Jeff Bezos backing her.

The lingerie brand is said to be associated with the private equity firm Coate, which recently received a $1 billion investment from Jeff Bezos.

Sweeney has yet to confirm the news herself, but a source claims the line is launching “very soon.”
