Today is the halfway point way of 2025.

Not only is July 2, 2025 the halfway point of the year, it also means with this mark we are officially closer to the year 2050 than to the year 2000.


The Chatham Concert Band returns to the stage tonight.

This is the 98th year for the Summer Concert Series, the show is free beginning at 7p.m.

Conductor Vaughn Pugh will chat with CKMORNINGS at 8:50 this morning.


Chatham Ribfest is happening this weekend.

Ribfest takes place in Tecumseh Park from Thursday to Sunday and is celebrating its 16th year in Chatham.

Ribfest will feature over half a dozen ribbers along with vendors and live entertainment.

The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers winning streak came to an end on Tuesday.

After winning 5 in a row, the Barnstormers fell 3-25 against the Brantford Red Sox.

The Barnstormers aren’t back at home until July 12 when they take on Hamilton. You can get tickets here. 

Meanwhile, voting is still open to send Barnstormers players to the IBL All-Star Game in Hamilton in a couple of weeks.

The Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) announced plans for further expansion and three more teams, including one in Detroit.

Detroit’s new team will begin playing in 2029 and will be owned by a group headed by Pistons owner Tom Gores. Home games will be played at Little Caesars Arena.

The previous WNBA team, the Detroit Shock, played at the former Palace of Auburn Hills from 1998 to 2009, when the franchise moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Shock won three WNBA titles, in 2003, 2006, and 2008.

Cleveland and Philadelphia were also awarded expansion franchises.

Toronto’s new WNBA franchise, the Tempo, will begin play next summer.
