School buses will be back on the road a week from today.
The Ministry of Transportation is reminding drivers of school bus safety for all drivers.
When you see a school bus with its overhead amber-lights flashing:
- If you are driving and a school bus approaches, watch if the bus slows and flashes its overhead amber lights, which means that the bus is coming to a stop to pick-up or drop-off passengers.
- Slow down and prepare to stop whether you are behind or approaching a bus.
- Watch if the bus stops and flashes its overhead red-lights or activates its stop arm. This means that the bus has stopped to pick-up or drop off passengers. It is dangerous and illegal to fail to stop for a stopped school bus that has its overhead red lights flashing or its stop arm activated.
It’s a $490 fine and six demerit points if a driver runs a school bus with its red lights and stop sign out.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes are back at Starbucks today, along with the rest of their fall menu. And it’s the earliest they’ve ever started selling it.
They started on August 25th last year. So it’s only one day earlier, but still a new record.
Fall doesn’t officially start until September 22nd, by the way.
