There’s a new champion- The world dog surfing champion!

The 2025 World Dog Surfing Championships, the biggest dog surfing competition, took place over the weekend in Pacifica, California.

Held annually, the event brings together dozens of dogs from across the world and their humans to ride the waves, show off their skills, and compete for the coveted title of top dog, while attracting a crowd of thousands of spectators to the beach.

The dogs are judged on confidence, technique, size of the wave ridden, and overall style.

First place went to Cacau, a chocolate Labrador from Brazil who once again took home the overall Top Dog title after riding 5-foot waves.
