Week 1 of NFL Preseason action kicks off tonight.

The preseason lasts for three weeks. There are no standings in the preseason and it ultimately doesn’t really mean much for the team that will eventually hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the Super Bowl in February.

As per tradition, the NFL regular season will kick off with the winners of the last Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles, welcoming the Dallas Cowboys in their hometown for a match on Thursday, September 4. The season’s first international match will take place the very next day in Sao Paulo, Brazil between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers.

The Detroit Lions will play their first game of the regular season on September 7 on the road against the Packers, with their first home game on September 14 against the Bears.

For the game on September 7, the NFL is once again hosting a watch party north of the border.

The Lions are hosting a watch party for the Lions-Packers matchup on Sunday, September 7 at Canada Life Place in London. Tickets for the event are on sale at the Lions official website.

The Lions did a handful of official Canadian watch parties last season. The goal of the event is to better connect to the team’s Canadian fan base.
