The Chatham-Kent Film Group will screen We Lend a Hand: The Forgotten Story of the Ontario Farmerettes tonight at Chatham Galaxy Cinemas.
Showings at 4 and 7 p.m. Admission is $12 and tickets can be purchased at the door, cash only.
The C-K Film Group screens international and independent films the first Monday of the month.
The next film screening will be held on Monday, October 6th.
This afternoon the Chatham Branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library is welcoming Gabriel Allahdua, author of “Harvesting Freedom: The Life of a Migrant Worker in Canada”, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Cultural Centre.
This event is free and open to all. No registration is required. Light refreshments will be served.

The Welland Jacksfish are the 2025 Intercounty Baseball League Champions.
The Jackfish defeated the 2024 champion Barrie Baycats 15-5 on Sunday to win the best-of-seven Dominico Cup series in five games. Its the second championship for the Welland franchise, previously winning (again over Barrie) in 2023.
The Jackfish were the #1 team in the league all season. The Barnstormers were only able to win 1 game out of 5 against the champs this year.

The Windsor Spitfires season begins this weekend, and if you’re going to a game at the WFCU Centre, you can keep your cash at home.
Beginning this season, all concession stands, bars and food service locations inside the arena will now be cashless during ticketed events. All transactions within the arena will be processed through credit/debit cards and mobile payment methods.
The Box Office and the Windsor Spitfires Merchandise stores will continue to accept cash payments.
The World Jigsaw Puzzle Championships begins today in Spain.
Three events are contested in the championships. In all events, placement is determined by the fastest completion within the time limit. There is a Team event, a Pairs event, and an Individual event.
The competition wraps up on Sunday.
