Tilbury will host the Community Resource and Job Fair this afternoon at the Tilbury Arena.

There is no cost to attend. There’s a variety of companies organizations looking to hire. Come prepared with your resume and dress to impress.

There will also be community resources available to gather more information on importance supports in C-K including housing, childcare, recreation and more.

The Community Resource and Job Fair is open from 2- 6 p.m.


Saturday is a Household Hazardous Waste Day.

Hosted by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and Waste Connections of Canada Ridge Landfill.

The drop off is at Veolia Environmental, at 141 Prosperity Way from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The final two household hazardous waste days this year:

  • Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Residents can safely dispose of household hazardous material at no charge. A list of acceptable material can found here.


Tomorrow is a PA Day for most students in Chatham-Kent (Yes, already!)

If you’re looking for something to do tomorrow, there are a couple of free swim times in Blenheim and Wallaceburg.

Friday 1:30-3 at the Gable Rees Rotary Pool in Blenheim and at the Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool 1:30–4. No registration needed.


The Ontario Hockey League season begins tonight.

The Windsor Spitfires will open the season in Sarnia tomorrow. The defending Memorial Cup champion London Knights host the Owen Sound Attack.

The Spits home season begins on Saturday night at the WFCU Centre vs London.

The 20 OHL clubs will play a 68-game schedule.


Today is Slurpee Name Your Price Day!

Go to 7-Eleven, grab a large Slurpee with whatever flavour combination you can think of and pay whatever you want for it.

All proceeds will be going to Food Banks Canada to help Canadian families who are struggling with food insecurity right now.

Last year, Windsor’s 7-Eleven location at 278 Tecumseh Rd E, raised the most donations ($471.89) and sold the most Slurpee beverages (466), of any individual store in Canada. The total across the country was 44,000 Slurpees sold and raised about $58,000.

You get a Slurpee and get to contribute to a good cause!
