The Chatham-Kent Public Library has once again opened its Grow Seeds Library.

As of yesterday, all branches have a small variety of native plant seeds available for check out.

“This seed library contains native plant seeds for many popular local plants including black-eyed susan, butterfly weed, swamp and common milkweed, purple coneflower, and New England asters, to name a few.” Library officials said.

To receive the five free packages of seeds all you need is a valid library card to check out.

It’s Movie Night at the Capitol Theatre.

Tonight’s sunset is 8 p.m.

As of tonight, the sunsets will be before 8 until the beginning of April.

We will lose about three minutes of daylight each day over the next month, with the sunset scheduled two minutes earlier every day. By the end of September, the sunset is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.

Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 2nd.

Tonight’s Powerball is up to $1.3 billion.

There has not been a Powerball winner since May 31st, that’s 40 draws without a winning ticket. The record is 42 consecutive drawings without a match.

That’s a lot of money, but not the largest. The largest jackpot was $2.04 billion won in California in November 2022.

**Reminder: There are no restrictions that prohibit Canadians from playing the Powerball lottery. Be aware and very careful of websites offering to sell to Canadians.

Ten years after forming one of the biggest food manufacturers in the world, Kraft Heinz is splitting into two companies.

The official names of the two companies has not been released yet. One of the companies, currently called Global Taste Elevation Co., will include brands such as Heinz, Philadelphia cream cheese and Kraft Mac & Cheese. The other, currently called North American Grocery Co., will include legacy brands like Maxwell House, Oscar Mayer, Kraft Singles and Lunchables.

Kraft Heinz shares fell 3% yesterday.
