The Chatham-Kent Museum, Kiwanis Theatre, and Thames Art Gallery will open their doors to the community today for a Chatham-Kent Arts and Culture Open House at the Chatham Cultural Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This event will showcase the programming opportunities available across the venues.

Visitors can check out interactive activities, exhibitions, and behind-the-scenes tours. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.


The Detroit Tigers jump out to a 1-0 lead in the American League Wild Card Series over the Cleveland Guardians with a 2-1 win.

Tarik Skubal tied Detroit’s postseason record with 14 strikeouts. The Tigers can advance to the AL Division Series for the second straight year with a win this afternoon. Today’s first pitch is at 1:08 p.m.

The Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees, the winner of this series will play the Toronto Blue Jays beginning on Saturday.

The Chicago Cubs, and Los Angeles Dodgers were also winners.


While the Toronto Blue Jays wait for their opponent, they’ll warm up with a couple of intrasquad games at the Rogers Centre today and tomorrow.

The games will begin at 4 p.m. and are $10 a ticket, with proceeds going to the Blue Jays Foundation.

The Jays will play four to five inning games to get ready for the American League Division Series that begins on Saturday.

Wheel of Fortune had the biggest winner in its 43-season history last night.

Contestant Christina Derevjanik from Stamford, Connecticut won a cash prize of $1,035,155, plus trips to Montana and Tokyo.

She’s the fourth contestant in the show’s history to earn the million-dollar prize, and the first since Ryan Seacrest took over as host.

Christina’s winning puzzle was “Pack of Coyotes” in the “Living Things” category.
