The Salvation Army Chatham Kent is looking for Red Kettle volunteers.

Kettles will be on the streets beginning tomorrow in Chatham, next week in Wallaceburg. Funds raised directly support local families and children in need.

Santa Claus is coming to town this weekend!

The first Chatham-Kent Santa Claus Parades are Friday and Saturday.

The Downtown Chatham Santa Claus Parade is Friday.

Float staging will be held on Sandys Street beginning at 4:30 p.m. and will begin at 6:30. From Sandys, to Lacroix, to Wellington St (due to construction), to Third St., King Street West before wrapping up at the WISH Centre.

Non-perishable goods and new toys will also be collected during the parade. Canada Post will collect letters to Santa.

On Saturday, the Knights of Pythias Wallaceburg Santa Claus Parade. It starts on Arnold St. at 6 p.m.

Certified Bangers, a little gold badge on your profile, is a badge that highlights five of the most engaging original posts for the month.

Personal accounts in good standing can earn the badge; business, political, and government accounts are excluded.

The initiative is meant to “recognise and celebrate posts that move the platform — the ones that make people laugh, think, or talk.” Five posts will be chosen monthly, and winners will display a Bangers badge on their profile for one month.


Australia has so many solar panels now, they’re giving away electricity for free.

They don’t want to waste any. So starting next year, millions of Australians will get three hours of free electricity per day. You don’t even have to have solar panels on your house.

The Australian government has announced that electricity customers in three states will get free electricity for up to three hours per day starting in July 2026. Although the government hasn’t said which hours in the middle of the day will qualify, the hours between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. are the most likely candidates. Customers will have to opt in to the new plan.


A man from Hungary has set a new record for longest video game marathon by playing for six days.

And he had to work for it – playing the rhythm-based music game Dance Dance Revolution for 144 hours.

The previous record stood for almost 10 years. It’s now the record for the longest video game marathon. He danced to over 3,000 songs, and burned more than 22,000 calories.
