Costco is extending its hours for the holidays.

Beginning today warehouses will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

The extended schedule remains in effect throughout the holiday season until January 1, 2026. Stores will be open on Christmas Eve (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.), Boxing Day, and New Year’s Eve (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) for any last-minute trips, stores will not be closed on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

The northernmost city in North America is about to go dark.

The sun will set in Utqiagvik, Alaska at 1:36 p.m. today, and it won’t return until January 22, 2026. That’s 64 days without seeing the sun.

On the 22nd, the sun will rise at 1:23 p.m. and set just 48 minutes later.

Utqiagvik, formerly known as Barrow, Alaska has an average of 160 days per year below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. There are, on average, 4,500 residents year-round that live there.

A number of other locations in Alaska will move into polar night in the next couple of weeks. On the flipside, you can be sitting on your porch at midnight midsummer, drinking a glass of beer, with the sun shining in the sky and lighting up the land. Utqiagvik will enjoy endless daylight between May 11 till August 19th.

Naked versions of Doritos and Cheetos are coming soon.

Cheetos and Doritos’ parent company, PepsiCo, announced a “reinvention” of the two snacks last week with the launch of new Simply NKD Doritos and Cheetos flavors. The NKD products will be available in four flavors: Doritos Simply NKD Nacho Cheese, Doritos Simply NKD Cool Ranch, Cheetos Simply NKD Puffs and Cheetos Simply NKD Flamin’ Hot.

PepsiCo claims, “Same crunch. Same flavor. Same joy — just without added color.” They will arrive in stores on December 1st.

The conic Cheetos and Doritos will remain unchanged.
