November 24th is the 328th day of the year. There are 37 days remaining until the end of the year.

Today should be the best day of the week according to Environment Canada.

Mostly sunny skies and a high of 10C. Rain moves in tomorrow and we’ll see temperatures drop down to just 1C by the weekend, with some flurries expected.

The Chatham Goodfellows’ annual Porchlight Campaign is next Monday.

Hundreds of volunteers will go door to door, seeking donations to make sure there is No Child Without a Christmas.

More information and how to volunteer online at ChathamGoodfellows.ca.

If you are in need of assistance with food or toys this year, call the Goodfellows from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday at 519-354-1146.

The CKSY Toques & Mitts Mission, supporting the Chatham Goodfellows, is Wednesday.

We’re going to help keep children warm this holiday season by collecting toques, mitts, scarves and more. Drop off your donations Wednesday from 7-noon at CKSY (117 Keil Dr in Chatham) Every donation gets a ballot for a chance to win a $500 Visa card from the Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors or a suite at an upcoming Windsor Spitfires game.

The Chatham-Kent Public Library is hosting another Puzzle Swap, this time at the Blenheim Branch.

Puzzles can be dropped beginning Tuesday until Friday to receive a voucher to return and participate in the Puzzle Swap on Saturday, November 8th.

Bring your voucher in Saturday and shop the “new-to-you” puzzles between 12-3:30 p.m.

Nearly 82 million Americans will travel over the Thanksgiving holiday period that begins Tuesday and lasts until December 1st. That’s an increase of 1.6 million from last year.

Tuesday will be the busiest day to fly, followed by Sunday with travellers returning home. The best day to drive down south is Thursday, there’s usually not a ton of traffic on Thanksgiving itself.

A lot of the headaches come at security, because people don’t know what to pack.

Turkey and stuffing are allowed in carry-on bags. So are pies and cakes, because they’re considered solids. But no gravy or mashed potatoes because they’re considered a liquid.
