It’s American Thanksgiving Day.

Always celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November; it’s been a statutory holiday since 1879.

For anyone crossing the border to celebrate, the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel is expecting an increase in traffic with the U.S. holiday, the Lions, Red Wings and Pistons all have games, and holiday events on both sides of the border.

Besides the turkey, a couple other traditions will go down today.

The Lions will play the Packers at 1 this afternoon, followed by Kansas City and Dallas and Cincinnati and Baltimore later tonight.

Downtown Windsor will be a sea of Honolulu blue and silver. The City of Windsor is inviting fans down to enjoy a massive live viewing screen, NFL-themed activations, outdoor bars, and local food vendors.

The 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. will take place this morning.

There’s a total of 34 balloons on the lineup, with 28 floats.

Performers include Foreigner, Lil Jon, the singing voices of HUNTR/X from “Kpop Demon Hunters”, Lainey Wilson, and Kool & the Gang. You can watch it at 8:30 a.m. on NBC, they’ll re-air it at 2:00 p.m.

The Toronto Blue Jays have made a splash in the MLB free agent market.

Reports say the Jays have agreed to terms on a seven-year, $210 million deal with right-hander Dylan Cease. The deal has not yet been confirmed by the club.

It would become the second largest contract the team has ever handed out, behind only Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s $500-million extension last season.

Cease pitched for the San Diego Padres last year.
