Lotto Max jackpot will be $80 million!

This is the fourth time the jackpot has grown to $80 million since the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation upped the cap limit early in 2024.

The first-ever $80 million jackpot was split by winners in Owen Sound, and Quebec. The second was also a split win, between players in Quebec and Alberta, while the third was won by just one person in British Columbia.

There will be an estimated 14 Maxmillions prizes, worth $1 million each, are also up for grabs. Lotto Max is $5 per play and draws take place every Tuesday and Friday. Tickets are available online or in store until 10:30 p.m. on draw nights.

If you’re travelling over the holidays, you are being warned not to bring wrapped Christmas presents to airports.

You may be asked to unwrap them at security checkpoints. It is recommended to either wait to wrap the gifts after the airport checkpoint or place the item inside a gift bag so that it can be inspected without having to dismantle the wrapping paper. There are also certain rules applied to holiday gifts like oversized snow globes and large electronics.

Today is Breakup Day, the biggest day of the year for breakups.

In 2008 researchers used the statistics from Facebook to study when people are most likely to change their status from ‘In A Relationship’ to ‘Single’, and it turns out that day is December 11th. Ever since, we’ve held onto the date.

While Facebook relationship statuses might be a thing of the past, relationship experts say the holiday season strains relationships, leading to December 11th being the most common breakup day of the year. The pressure of gift-giving and family gatherings causes couples to reconsider their relationships. January 5th is Tinder’s busiest day of the year.
