The Salvation Army Kettles are out across Chatham-Kent.

Volunteers are needed. If you have a couple of hours or more to spare, contact the Salvation Army at CKSalvationArmy.org or call 519-354-8353.

The funds raised directly will support local families and children in need.


East Side Pride‘s Annual Breakfast with Santa Saturday at the W.I.S.H. Centre.

Join Mr. and Mrs. Claus from 9:30-11 a.m., everyone is welcome! Special thanks to the first responders who are cooking and serving the food.

East Side Pride is also hosting a Turkey Bingo at the Wish Centre on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. Must be 18 years old, turkeys, ham and cash up for grabs.


Tolls are going up again at the Ambassador Bridge.

As of January 1st, 2026, the toll for automobiles and motorcycles will increase to $10 U.S. with a credit card or cash, up from the current $9 U.S.

It will cost $14 Canadian, up from the current $12.

The last time the tolls were raised was on January 1st, 2025.


Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom soup is entering prime season.

Campbell’s says that 50% of annual sales of cream of mushroom soup take place between November and January.

Introduced in 1934, it was the first product from Campbell’s marketed as both a soup and a sauce.


We should be done with the snow for a couple of days, now we’ll have to deal with some cold temperatures.

Sun and cloud today with a high of just -4C, feeling like -15 this morning.

The cold snap will continue right through the weekend.
