Juneau, Alaska had so much snow in December that several roofs collapsed and boats sank in the harbour.
Nearly seven feet of snow — 82 inches — fell on Alaska’s capital city last month – nearly an entire winter season’s worth of snow. Its the snowiest December in more than 80 years. There was so much, they were running out of places to put it.
Now in January, rain has caused problems too with flooding now an issue. Strong winds and heavy rain are expected until tomorrow bringing the risk for large avalanches.
