You dealt with the snow yesterday, now prepare for the polar vortex.

Ontario is bracing for the coldest airmass on Earth tomorrow (love that for us) as an extreme polar vortex settles over the province.

Meteorologists say temperatures could plunge to -30 to -40°C in parts of the province, making Ontario one of the coldest places on the planet. They do say this is just round one, with another surge of Arctic air possible next week.

The bitter cold is expected to linger through the rest of January and into February, meaning snow and ice won’t be melting anytime soon. Forecasters say the severity of this cold snap is being underestimated and are urging people to prepare for dangerous winter conditions.

Olive Garden is coming back to Ontario this summer. Two new locations are on the way — one at Vaughan Mills, and another in Ottawa.

Olive Garden used to have nearly a dozen Ontario locations in the 1990s.
