This weekend will be the first (of four) free fishing periods in Ontario this year.
This means you do not need to buy a fishing license if you want to fish during:
Family Fishing Weekend (February 14-16)
Mother’s Day Weekend (May 9-10)
Father’s Day Weekend (June 20-21)
Family Fishing Week (June 27-July 5)
During all other time periods, Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase a valid fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.
