The Weather Network released their Spring Forecast this week and they say the transition from winter to spring is expected to be slow and a messy, with colder-than-normal temperatures and even some snow possibly lasting into April.

Meteorologists say the pattern that gave much of us a volatile winter could continue into the early part of spring. Across Ontario, temperatures will likely hover near or slightly below seasonal averages, with only short bursts of warmer weather. The chilliest stretch could arrive between late March and early April. Precipitation is also expected to be near or above normal.
After work patio drinks are just going to have to wait a little longer.

Instagram will begin notifying parents if their teens repeatedly search for terms related to suicide or self-harm.

The alerts will only be sent to parents enrolled in Instagram’s parental supervision program, and can arrive by text, email, WhatsApp, or an in-app notification.
Instagram says it already blocks that kind of content from teen search results and instead directs users to helplines and support resources.

Today is International Polar Bear Day.
A day to raise awareness about the conservation status of the polar bear. Celebrated every February 27th, to coincide with the time period when polar bear mothers and cubs are sheltered in their snow dens.
Pregnant polar bears enter maternity dens in October/November to give birth, with families remaining inside until March or April. During this 4-to-8-month fast, moms rely on fat storage.
Remember, if you ever come face to face with a bear: “if it’s black, fight back; if it’s brown lie down; if it’s white, goodnight!”
