February is Black History Month.
Every February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and festivities that honour the legacy of Black Canadians and their communities. Black History Month was established in February 1926. It wasn’t until December of 1995 that the House of Commons officially recognized February as Black History Month in Canada, following a motion introduced by the Jean Augustine, the first Black Canadian woman elected to Parliament.
Once considered a destination for freedom seekers, Chatham-Kent is home to some of the most successful Black settlements in Canadian History.

The Toronto Blue Jays will celebrate their 50th season this year and will honour one of the most iconic moments in Canadian sports history.

The team announced plans to build a statue of Joe Carter outside Rogers Centre on Monday.
The statue will depict Carter’s famous leap after his walk-off home run in the 1993 World Series — the first championship ever won on Canadian soil. The statue will be unveiled July 18th during a special pregame ceremony honouring the 1992 and 1993 championship teams. The first 15,000 fans that day will receive replica World Series rings, with a replica statue giveaway scheduled for August 10.

Speaking of baseball, the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers will host the Canadian Baseball League All Star Weekend this year.

Tickets are now on sale for the Skills Competitions & Home Run Derby on Saturday July 11th and the All Star Showdown on Sunday, July 12th.

As of yesterday, Wordle is allowing previously used words to appear again.
This rule change means that familiar words from past puzzles may resurface, adding a new layer of strategy for daily players. For those who play every day, it could mean thinking twice before guessing what seems like an “easy” answer.
While new words will continue to appear, the reintroduction of old ones gives Wordle creators more flexibility in designing puzzles, keeping the game fresh while giving longtime players a nostalgic twist.
The five-letter game, is still played by millions worldwide daily, now with a new twist.
