A couple of local high schools are hosting Grade 8 Open Houses tonight.

Chatham-Kent Secondary School will host their Open House tonight at the school on McNaughton Ave., Chatham at 6:30 p.m. Students and their parents can tour the school, meet the staff, and learn more about the programs offered.

Wallaceburg District Secondary School Open House begins at 6 p.m. and is open to all Grade 6, 7, and 8 students and their families.

John McGregor Secondary School will host Grade 8’s and their parents/guardians on Thursday at 6:15 p.m.

Chatham will play host to hundreds of pool players from Ontario and Quebec beginning today.

The John D. Bradley Centre is the venue for the 2026 Ontario Annual 8-Ball Championships. The tournament includes team and single divisions beginning this afternoon and wrapping up Sunday.

Play will begin at 2 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The tournament is open to the public with a bar and light snacks available for purchase.

Save the Date: The 68th Ford Fireworks will light up the sky over the Detroit River Monday, June 22nd.

The show celebrates Independence Day in the United States and Canada Day in Canada.

Today is the second and final day of the 2025 New Mexico Chile Conference.

The university’s Chile Pepper Institute is celebrating the 50 annual conference this year.
