The Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 officially opens today.

JUNO and Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Alessia Cara will be a part of the countdown to the Opening Ceremony at 1:30 p.m.

The Opening Ceremony will begin at 2 p.m., you can wath on CBC, Sportsnet and TSN. Mariah Carey will be one of the performers and world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli. There will be a rich blend of music, art and Italian culture woven into the performances. Moguls skier Mikaël Kingsbury and ski crosser Marielle Thompson will carry the Canadian flag during the Opening Ceremony festivities.

The ceremony kicks off a Games with over 3,500 athletes from about 93 countries competing across 16 disciplines. This Opening Ceremony is unique because parts of the celebration will take place in multiple locations — not just Milan. While the core show is at San Siro, simultaneous athlete parades and celebrations will occur in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Predazzo and Livigno to connect the city and mountain regions that co‑host the Games.

Super Bowl LX is Sunday night at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The Super Bowl isn’t just a game — it’s a major TV and streaming event. It’s one of the most watched broadcasts each year, with fans tuning in on TV, online, and via streaming platforms.

The Seattle Seahawks will take on the New England Patriots. Seattle ranks top-10 in defense and love forcing turnovers, while the Patriots have 11 Super Bowl appearances and five championships. The Patriots won the Super Bowl 49 years ago against the Seahawks with a late game interception. Seattle is favoured by around -4.5 points.

Charlie Puth will perform the national anthem, and Bad Bunny is doing the halftime show.

Ever wonder why the NFL uses Roman numerals for Super Bowls? To avoid confusion with calendar years — the only exception was Super Bowl 50, which skipped “L” and used the number instead.

Kick off is 6:30 on NBC and TSN.

IKEA has introduced a new hot dog in the United Arab Emirates that’s nearly two feet long.

It’s called the “half-meter hot dog,” and it’s 20-inches long. They’re selling it for about $7. It comes with a bun, but it’s about half the size, so the hot dog sticks out of both sides, by a lot. You can add cheese, pickles, fried onions, and jalapenos. But that costs extra.

IKEA hasn’t said if this hot dog is coming to locations in North America.
