Seattle beat New England 29-13 for their second ever championship. Seattle’s defense dominated, shutting out the Patriots through three quarters.

Kenneth Walker III was named MVP.


The Winter Olympics are underway in Milan/Cortina Italy.

Canada has its first medal; speed skater Valérie Maltais earned bronze on the first full day of competition. It’s her third Olympic medal overall.

Sidney Crosby was named captain of Canada’s men’s Olympic hockey team. They’ll play their first game on Thursday at 10:40 a.m.


Toronto Blue Jays games will sound a little different this Summer: colour analyst Buck Martinez is calling it a career.

After more than 40 years behind the mic and over 4,000 Blue Jays games, Buck announced his retirement on Friday – going out after calling Game 7 of the World Series, the most-watched Sportsnet broadcast ever.

Martinez joined the Jays as a player in 1981, then became the voice of summer for generations of fans. Buck says it’s time to step out of the booth, enjoy the years ahead, and keep cheering on the Blue Jays — just from a different seat.


Ever wanted to try juggling?

The Chatham branch of the Chatham-Kent Library is hosting juggling lessons on Friday, February 13 and 19 at 2 p.m.

CKPL says the classes are a “light‑hearted, beginner‑friendly program is designed for anyone who has ever been curious about juggling – or simply enjoys a good laugh. No prior experience is required.” The program will introduce the basics of juggling in a supportive, relaxed environment. All materials will be provided. Adults of all skill levels are welcome.
