5 Things You Need To Know For March 4, 2026
March 4, 2026 5:55 amMarch 4th is the 63th day of the year. There are 302 days remaining until the end of the year.

The Workforce Week Job Fair is today at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre.

The Job Fain runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is the largest job fair in C-K, with more than 80 employers, education partners like University of Windsor and Lambton College, plus hands-on skilled-trades demonstrations for youth.
Bring your resume and be prepared to be interviewed on the spot.

During the month of March, your donation to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation will have double the impact.
March Matchness will see gifts matched dollar-for-dollar — up to $50,000. The match is thanks to Robin and Bob Hockney. Your donations will support enhancements to mammography services in Chatham.
‘March Matchness’ runs until March 31. You can donate or find more information here.

When the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers hit the field this season, there will be a new manager at the helm: Dom Dinelle.
The team made the announcement on Tuesday that Dinelle will take over in the dugout. Dom is also the President, CEO & Co-Owner. Harry Muir finished last season as the manager, will take on the title of pitching coach to go along with General Manager & Co-Owner.
The Barnstormers third season begins on May 15th vs the Guelph Royals at Fergie Jenkins Field.

Gas prices in Chatham-Kent have jumped more than 25 cents since the weekend.
And now the pumps have jumped another 6 cents this morning, at local stations.
The rise at the pumps can be blamed on the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz, a waterway controlled by Iran that one-fifth of the world’s oil is shipped through, is closed.

Officials in the Netherlands have brought back the popular “fish doorbell” again. They’ve been doing this since 2021 to help fish migrate up a river.
There’s a gate fish can’t get past unless someone opens it for them. So they set up a livestream to let people all over the world monitor the gate.
If you see fish, you click a button to let someone know. Last year the site had more than 2.3 million unique visitors who pressed the doorbell a collective 200,000 times and let thousands of fish continue on their journeys.
