Big jump in temperature today according to Environment Canada.

After some chilly days this week, the high today jumps to 19°C, but there is a chance of some rain around midday.

Could see some rain overnight and a cool Friday before some sunshine on Saturday, and temperatures returning to the low 20’s on Sunday.


The Chatham-Kent Film Group will screen Nika & Madison Monday at Chatham Galaxy Cinemas.

Showings at 4 and 7p.m.. Admission is $12 and tickets can be purchased at the door.

Nika & Madison is directed by Walpole Island’s Eva Thomas and will be in attendance.

The C-K Film Group screens international and independent films the first Monday of the month. Screenings are at Chatham Galaxy Cinemas.


The Masters golf tournament begins today.

The first of the four major PGA tournaments, and the only one played on the same golf course every year – Augusta National Golf Club.

This is the 90th annual tournament. The winner receives over $4.2 million dollars and the coveted green jacket. Rory McIlroy is the defending champ. He’ll attempt to be the first player to repeat as Masters champion since Tiger Woods (2001, 2002)

Unlike other sporting events The Masters sell their concessions and food for next to nothing. Sandwiches cost $3 (barbecue pork, ham and cheese, chicken, egg salad and club sandwiches) Coffee costs $2 a cup and muffins and breakfast sandwiches cost $3. Desserts cost no more than $3.

Forty life-sized animatronic dinosaurs are coming to Richmond Hill this Summer.

Jurassic Kingdom will allow visitors to walk through an outdoor trail featuring moving and roaring dinosaurs like T-Rex, Triceratops and Raptors. The show will run July 23 to August 10.

The family-friendly event also includes activities like fossil digs, bouncy castles and ride-on dinosaurs.

Tickets start around $20, and the experience runs daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine.


Toronto Blue Jays fans haven’t had much to cheer for so far this season, but Tuesday they were celebrating.

Despite losing 4-1 to the Dodgers in a World Series rematch, fans smashed the hot dog record that was just set last season. A record 102,202 hot dogs were eaten in one night. Fans consumed 53,300 hot dogs before the game had even started!

That’s more than 2 hot dogs per fan, and at one point, people were crushing them at a rate of 10 per second.

On Tuesday nights at the ‘dome its Loonie Dogs Night, and on Tuesday they dropped dogs to just 77 cents to celebrate the year the team arrived in Toronto.
